10 DAYS TO THE LAST FRONTIER
ALASKA, LAND OF THE MIDNIGHT SUN

Join the 590KLBJ-AM Alaska cruise with "Sergeant Sam", Sam Cox of the morning show as we invite you aboard the Carnival Spirit on this unique cruise sailing from Whittier, Alaska to the historical cities of Sitka, Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, Alaska that includes a pre-cruise Anchorage 2 night stay. Your pre-cruise touring includes the many sights of South Central Alaska, Glacier viewing, and up close Alaska wildlife. The unique itinerary of our ALASKA CRUISE EXPERIENCE offers you the opportunity to explore our 49th State, Alaska. Those who will be on the ALASKA TOUR EXPERIENCE will be joining us in Anchorage. You will fly to Anchorage, Alaska on Monday, May 22nd where you will spend two nights at the Hilton Anchorage. After a good night’s rest and some free time on Tuesday morning we will spend the afternoon on a city tour, visiting the Alaska Native Heritage Center, and the Alaska Sled Dog Center. Wednesday morning we will leave Anchorage for our cruise ship that sails from Whittier, Alaska on Wednesday evening. Prior to sailing on Wednesday, enjoy the many sights while riding along Turnagain Arm south from Anchorage to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where orphaned and injured animals are cared for.

Then it is onto Alyeska Resort where trams await to transfer us to the 4,000 foot summit of Mt. Alyeska and a breath taking view of Cook Inlet. Alyeska Prince Hotel in Girdwood, Alaska is where we will enjoy a lunch in one of their private banquet rooms. Wednesday after lunch our buses will take us along the Portage Glacier Highway to the Begich Boggs Visitor Center, the stopping off point for our Portage Glacier visit. The mv Ptarmigan is there for an up-close, face-to-face cruise to the icy-blue Portage Glacier. The Carnival Spirit awaits your arrival for embarkation in Whittier, which is a 2.5 mile ride through the longest tunnel in North America and our 9PM sailing. After the Thursday morning safety drill, you can expect to view some of the most unbelievable Glaciers on this planet as we sail into Price William Sound. The onboard naturalist will point out all of the present wildlife as we sail southbound to our first port of call, Sitka. For 126 years, Sitka was the capitol of Czarist Russia’s new world outpost. We next visit Juneau, the current capitol of Alaska, which was the scene of the Alaska Gold Rush over 100 years ago.
Then it is onto Skagway where the White Pass and Yukon Railroad awaits for your historical ride back to the Klondike days. At our last port of call, Ketchikan you will have the opportunity to view the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show as seen on ESPN-TV. In addition to all this excitement of exploring Alaska, there are also numerous activities, lounges and shows aboard your floating resort, the Spirit.
