Holland America Line's Zaandam

14 DAYS TO THE LAST FRONTIER -
ALASKA, LAND OF THE MIDNIGHT SUN

Join the 590KLBJ-AM Alaska cruise-tour with your host Mark Caesar of the morning show as we invite you aboard Holland America Line's Zaandam on this unique tour and 7 day cruise sailing from Seward, Alaska through Glacier Bay to the historical cities of Juneau, Haines/Skagway and Ketchikan, Alaska. This follows our 7-day land tour of Anchorage and Denali National Park. Your pre-cruise touring includes the many sights of South Central Alaska, Denali National Park home of Mt. McKinley and up close Alaska wildlife.

This unique itinerary of our ALASKA EXPERIENCE offers you the opportunity to explore our 49th State, Alaska. After a good night's rest, on Monday morning, we will begin with a city tour followed with visits to the Anchorage Museum and after lunch the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Tuesday morning we will leave for our daylong tours and sights while riding along Turnagain Arm south from Anchorage to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (A.W.C.C.) where orphaned and injured animals are cared for. Then it is onto Alyeska Resort where trams await to transfer us to the 4,000 foot summit of Mt. Alyeska and breath taking views of Cook Inlet and Girdwood, Alaska.

Next it is onto the Begich Boggs Visitors Center at Portage Glacier and an up close Glacier cruise. Finally, we move onto Crow Creek Gold Mine for a buffet lunch and time for touring the Gold Mine and panning for Gold. Thursday we transfer by train to Denali National Park for three nights at the McKinley Chalets. Thursday night we have a fantastic dinner show for you followed up on Friday with a daylong bus tour deep into Denali National Park. Saturday enjoy Jeff King's Husky Homestead Tour. Sunday we transfer from Denali to Seward via luxury Explorer Motor Coach where we will embark for our 7 night cruise to Vancouver, B.C. Prior to our first port of call we will spend 8 hours on Tuesday cruising the ice-studded fjords of Glacier Bay National Park. Wednesday we make our first port of call Haines / Skagway where the White Pass and Yukon Railroad awaits for your historical ride back to the Klondike days. We next visit Juneau, the current capitol of Alaska, which was the scene of the Alaska Gold Rush over 100 years ago. At our last port of call, Ketchikan you will have the opportunity to visit Misty Fjords, salmon fish or view the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show as seen on ESPN-TV. In addition to all this excitement of exploring Alaska, our 49th State, there are also numerous activities, lounges and shows aboard your floating resort, the Zaandam.
